Laurie was initiated in 1993 with L.U. 424, attended Salting School, C.O.M.E.T. and Construction Organizing courses. Federation of Labour and the B.C. and Yukon Building Trades Council..

Brother Jordan has participated in Fair Wage campaigns that resulted in successful prosecution of nonunion companies. He has been an I.B.E.W. representative at many protests and picket lines. His Salting efforts resulted in the payment of wages owed by Hennaberry Electric on all their Fair Wage sites. Attending Leadership Training opened my eyes to the importance of the Recording Secretary to the check and balance system of the Local's finances. I see this as the watch dog position of the Local, and not one for the inexperienced.

"I am looking forward to ensuring that the Unit meetings are conducted in the Democratic forum this Brotherhood intended and the North/South island schizm nurtured over the past three years be put to rest. In addition, I am also interested in gaining the proffessional hands on experience this local has to offer under the guidance of Phil Venoit."
